Individual Services & Packages
Welcome. You have arrived at this page because you have acknowledged that you need some support in navigating life’s difficult transitions. As a Social Worker, I have witnessed people move through difficult chapters, successfully, with collaborative support.
The goal of Create Healing Spaces is to support people in getting through life’s transitions, while they empower themselves, find (re)-alignment and build emotional resilience.
My mission is to support you by providing you with education and resources on emotional well being, and to work with you using therapeutic tools like yoga, that will enable you to transition with agency through your healing journey.
Empowered – Developing a deeper understanding of why we feel, think or act a certain way
Aligned – Centered and balanced cognitively, spiritually, and in the body
Resilient – Developing skills and a self practice to be able to grow in the face of adversity
When we feel empowered, aligned and are resilient, we are able move through life’s transitions with agency.
How does it work?
Healing is growth in the face of adversity. It is a journey of coming (back) into yourself. I am here to support you through this journey. To guide it, so that it is a journey of self discovery and reflection, of greater understanding and applied learning in order to move through this transitional phase.
In my own healing journeys, I found that one tool alone did not work for me. I set out to create a practice that encompasses all that I felt was necessary to healing. Guided by social work practice, I keep the following objective in mind: how can I enable clients to make changes on their own, so that ultimately they don’t need my support anymore?
You get to choose what this journey looks like for you. I can work with you, one on one, or in small group settings. Either way, I will provide you with knowledge, skills, and tools so that you are able to confidently tackle your own well being and achieve your healing goal. Whether that is healing from loss or burnout, finding relief from anxiety or depression, or embarking on a personal journey of growth and discovery, I am here support you.
My toolbox is holistic and includes yoga, mindfulness, intuitive energy healing, talk therapy modalities and a gamut of resources from social work practice. I teach you the “why you feel this way” and “how these tools help you” that is missing from so many other yoga and therapy practices.
Healing at Create Healing Spaces:
- can include the physical practice of yoga, but is not fitness or a physical journey
- is customized to individual and issue-based needs, not generic
- a practice that requires dedication and on-going support, rather than a one time experience
Your healing journey requires commitment, an open mind, and a willingness to put in the work.

About my education and life experience

I have a Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto (2009), in Social Justice and Diversity with a focus on community development. My 15-year career thus far has been dedicated to developing, evaluating, and implementing community programs and interventions that promote the health and well being of vulnerable individuals, groups and communities. I bring this expertise in community health to the Create Healing Spaces practice.
Yoga
As a student, I have been practicing yoga and studying Eastern philosophies since I was 18 years old. My love for yoga as a self-care and introspective self-study practice has taken me to retreats in Costa Rica and Thailand, as well as working the front desk of a yoga studio in my twenties. I obtained my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and 40 hour Restorative Teacher Training in 2014 with Octopus Garden Yoga Centre. In 2015, I completed my 20 hour Prenatal Yoga Training with Esther Meyers Yoga Studio. In 2020, at the onset of the COVID-19 epidemic, I completed an online Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Kassandra Reinhart. I am currently undergoing a 20 hour Anatomy training with Founder of Yoga Medicine Inc. online.
Counselling and Social Work Practice
I have worked for over 15 years in community health settings developing a range of interventions that improve the mental health and wellbeing of marginalized communities. In recent years, I have increased my range of clinical Social Work skills that have helped me to support people 1:1 in coping with stress, anxiety, low mood and life transitions. I bring psycho-education and resources gained from clinical practice, to clients at Create Healing Spaces so that they feel truly empowered in their own healing journeys. My counselling approach is collaborative, strengths-based model where you and I get to set the goals together. I am informed by a feminist frameworkes, which include anti-oppression and harm reduction principles.
I have a diploma in Expressive Arts therapy (Centre for Expressive Arts Therapy), course completion in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, as well as completion of a Cognitive-Behaviourial Therapy (CBT) Fundamental Skills course at OISE with Dr. Noah Lazar. In addition, I have completed training in a range of counselling approaches like Brief, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy. I am a volunteer clinician at a walk-in counselling service in Toronto where single-session brief counselling is provided.
Reiki
When I first had a Reiki treatment myself, I had a profound spiritual experience and I was drawn to Reiki healing as a greater calling. I completed Reiki level 1, 2 in 2012 , advancing on to receiving my Reiki Master Level Certification with Stephanie Cookson from Transense Healing Arts Studio in 2014. I have since been offering Reiki treatments from my home. I work with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Meridian system through Reiki and also weave in my understanding of the Chakra system- influenced by ancient spiritual Indian texts. I am particularly fond of offering Reiki therapy with yoga- through yin and restorative yoga classes.
As a lifelong learner and Yogi, my goal is to continue to learn and share my learnings with you. This is what makes Create Healing Spaces a truly empowering experience.
