I draw upon clinical social work practice to provide clients with insights and education so that they are better equipped to transition through their healing journey and build emotional resilience, in both individual and workshop offerings.
My counselling approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and solution-focused. This means that I work with where you are at in your healing journey and where you want to go with it, drawing upon your own inner strengths and wisdom. I am trauma-informed and bring an anti-oppressive framework to my work.
We don’t focus on the past, but work with the present in order to build emotional resilience for the future. I share psycho-educational resources and creative exercises so that clients gain a deeper understanding of what they’re going through, and develop skills and strategies to get through their challenging times. We incorporate body work, yoga, and breathwork into sessions.
Some of the therapeutic models that inform my practice are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as Narrative and Expressive Arts Therapy.
